A year ago this week, this was us.
And there she goes again!
My sweet Dacey Baby started Kindergarten today.
(Note: See how I do such a good job of not imposing all of my anti-consumerism fanaticism on her? Through gritted teeth, I let her pick the Barbie backpack. There are other battles for other days . . .)
In our district, Pre-K and Kindergarten are the only ones on the early childhood campus, so she was in the crowd of smiling, tear-free returning students this morning, excited to be one of the Big Kids. We hear wonderful things about her teacher and are looking forward to another great school year!
In other Big Girl news . . .
If you'll kindly glance up to the browser address, you'll notice that after four and a half years of blogging, I have finally moved to my own domain name. (Please tell me you see it.) You can now find me at SortaCrunchy.net! YAY! Even better, since I worked through Google Apps for setting up my domain, I now also have a Big Girl email address: firstname.lastname@example.org Go on! Try it! It will totally make my day (and possibly take my mind off of the fact that my Baby is a Big Girl now). (No pressure or anything.)
As sad as I am that summer is over, I feel good about it, too. We did lots of things and left quite a few things undone. It was a wonderful summer, but I am so ready for rhythm and routine. I'm looking forward to reconnecting with each of you as well!
